In an interview on December 10, broadcast journalist and news anchor Ces Drilon admitted that the producers of “Love Team: Beyond Boys’ Lockdown” did not have a hard time convincing her to join the series.
In the released trailer of Ticket2Me, Drilon will play the mother of one of the stars, Ali King, who is Alec Kevin’s partner in the said series.
Although acting is far from what she was doing when she was still a journalist, Drilon immediately became interested when this project was pitched to her.
“They were so convincing. They said the role fitted me perfectly. Wala lang basta they taught perfect ako for the role. So when they explained it to me, yeah, it really interested me.
“I don’t have the same restrictions as before. We can’t appear, we can’t do this and that, we can’t endorse before because you’re a journalist. So why not? Parang fun; it looked like a lot of fun.
“Hindi ko na sila pinahirapan!” she exclaimed.
One of the things she considered in her decision to accept the project was her son’s opinion, who happened to be part of the LGBTQ community.
“Ang ginawa ko, I asked permission from my son if he’s okay for me to take this role kasi I wanted to be sensitive with him.”
However, Drilon is delighted in this new chapter of her life. According to her, it gives her inspiration to continue discovering new things.
“Enjoy ako being surrounded by the millennials and gen z, nakaka-energize. Nakakabata, parang lagi kang may energy kapag may bago kang ginagawa, may bago kang passion. I think that’s where it’s from e. It’s like I’m so excited and energized because I’m trying so many new things na hindi ko ginagawa noon. It’s a whole new world and very exciting. Imagine, I am approaching 60, but I feel younger than ever,” shared Drilon.
So far, Drilon does not know if her acting career will continue. She hasn’t thought about accepting a new project yet.
When asked about her dream co-star, Drilon mentioned that she admires Kapamilya star, Charlie Dizon.
“I haven’t thought of it. This is just an experiment. Though I’m a big fan of Charlie Dizon. I love her Fangirl movie ang galing niya. I like her and tsaka nag-click kami kasi ginuest ko siya sa Kumu, tawa kami nang tawa. I’m a big fan of her.”
The broadcaster expressed excitement at the new field she would enter on her Instagram post.
“Now it can be told! So kilig to be part of Season 2 of #boyslockdown Love Team Beyond Boys’ Lockdown! Talking about experimentation and stepping out of one’s comfort zone – eto na talaga! The season teaser premiered last night,” said Drilon.
Season 1 of the said BL series first aired last year titled “Boys’ Lockdown.”
