As the election campaign period officially started, singers Matty Juniosa and John Mark Saga on Thursday, February 10, expressed their desire to have Vice President and presidential aspirant Leni Robredo be the next Philippine President.
In their respective twitter accounts, they shared that among the presidential bets, Robredo is their candidate.
Juniosa was even offered to perform for one of the campaigns of former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., but refused “out of principle” since he is a certified “kakampink.”
The singer also added that though he badly needed a job, he is even more “desperate” for Robredo to win.
“Today I declined an offer to sing for a BBM campaign in my city. Might be a broke singer but I just can’t do it. Lord, please #LetLeniLead and give me some kind of work. I’m broke but the only thing I’m desperate for is a win for Leni,” Juniosa shared.

Meanwhile, Saga, the grand finalist of It’s Showtime’s Tawag ng Tanghalan is itching to perform for Robredo when she visits his hometown in Bacoor, Cavite.
Tagging the twitter handle of the presidential aspirant, he wrote, “Sana makapag-perform ako ‘pag pumunta si Madam VP @lenirobredo dito sa Cavite.”

A netizen even wished for the two singers to do a duet in a Robredo sortie, which Saga is very open to doing.

Juniosa is a member of the group iDolls along with fellow Philippine Idol contestants Enzo Almario and Lucas Garcia.
Saga, on the other hand, holds the record for being the longest defending champion in Tawag ng Tanghalan Season 3.
