The tale of the heartbroken continues with this brand new episode, which throws the spotlight over Kiera (Barbie imperial), an event coordinator. Kiera is the other girl of Franco (Turs Daza), her boss. It’s not easy to miss the signs that say their relationship is doomed to end. Kiera, herself, has suffered the consequences of infidelity, as it was the very cause of her parents’ failed marriage. When she finally finds herself committing the same mistake her father did, she knows the affair has to end.
The Other Girl continues to explore Yanna as she moves forward while raping the fruits of a newfound career. Her love advice show made her popular, and Jeff (JC de Vera), knows she is just a few pushes short of accepting his book deal offer. She finally lets him know she’s getting there.
Serving as her web series debut, former MNL48 member, Sela Guia, plays as Franco’s legal wife. For an acting newbie, Guia’s charm is surprisingly easy and warm, and that’s considering her modest and mostly quiet character. Imperial has the dramatic chops to take on Kiera, but for some reason, the character still feels lacking. That said, this episode is undeniably an eye-opener. In Yanna’s words, we often settle for the crumbs of attention we get from the ones we love, even though we are offered better choices. When Kiera realizes this, it feels too late, but she assumes the courage to break free, anyway.
It will be interesting to know where will Kiera’s decisions bring her. It’s a question the next episodes should hopefully answer. And of course, Yanna’s developing affection toward Jeff is something to look forward to, too.
