On Wednesday, March 9, stars of the upcoming Vivamax film X-Deal 2, Angela Morena and Rob Guinto, stressed that they would not stay as sexy actresses for the entirety of their careers.
However, they consider it a good start for their journey as artists.
“Siguro para sa akin po it’s a good start to start my career. Pero habang buhay na ganito ang genre ko? Siguro hindi ko nakikita yung sarili ko,” Morena explained during the film’s virtual media conference.
She added, “As an actor, you have to be versatile. Gusto ko rin po na mag-explore sa iba’t-ibang character, iba’t-ibang role.”
Guinto likewise agreed. She pointed out that she has the capabilities to be an actress.
“Gusto ko pong mas may makita pa yung mga nanunuod sa amin kung ano pa yung talent at yung kaya pa naming gawin. Para magawa namin kung ano yung ibabato sa amin na roles.”
Angela and Rob choose which is harder: drama or sexy?
The two also talked about the genre which would pose a challenge to them. Morena said both genres are hard.
“Siguro sa akin parehong mahirap. Lalo na ito yung pinasok namin na genre, yung pagiging sexy, paghuhubad.”
However, it was easier for her to undress as long as it was important for the story. The sexy star stressed the burden of getting out of character in terms of drama.
“Yung pag-iyak, mahirap din kasi isa sa mga natutunan ko na you have to remove yourself, you have to be in character. Mahirap kasi na in character ka pa rin, cut na yung eksena, dala-dala mo pa rin yung character. So isa ‘yon sa mga iniwasan ko talaga during sa scene namin.”
Meanwhile, her co-star chose the second option: being a sexy actress.
Guinto explained, “Mahirap po siyempre yung paghubad. Paghuhubad po talaga. Kasi s’yempre, sabi nga po namin, ayaw naman naming makita ang mga sarili namin in the long-run na ganito ang ginagawa namin.”
It changed their lives nevertheless.
Though there are disadvantages of being a sexy star, Morena and Guinto could not deny that it made a difference in their lives.
“Ako siguro yung nabago I became stronger, bolder, wiser. Naging ano ako, mas open. Lalo na at hindi biro ang pinasok namin. I know na maraming tao ang magba-bash sa amin lalo na yung mga kakilala namin. Naging mas ready ako. I became happier. Mas naging masaya ako ngayon,” Morena shared.
On the other hand, Guinto prepared herself to deal with haters and bashers.
“Kasi once nag-enter ka na talaga sa showbiz, feeling mo mao-all out na talaga yung buong buhay mo eh. I’m ready po kung ano man ang mangyari or ano man ang sabihin sa akin ng mga tao.”
X-Deal 2 also stars newbie Josef Elizalde. It is under the direction of esteemed filmmaker Lawrence Fajardo.
