The Upuan and Simpleng Tao hitmaker is among the several Filipino artists who appeared in a new political ad that pushed for the Leni-Kiko tandem.
Netizens are delightfully surprised when they saw the Filipino rapper appear in the latest Leni-Kiko political ad, which featured Filipinos from different walks of life and professional fields.
The said political ad asked Filipino people’s readiness for a new brand of leadership and governance under the VP Leni Robredo’s stewardship.
In the said video, Gloc-9 or Aristotle Pollisco pledged his support for the Leni-Kiko tandem.
“Handa na ang Pilipinas para sa kulay na rosas na bukas (The Philippines is ready for a pink future)?”
It is easy to understand why many people are taken aback when they saw Gloc-9 on the said political ad. The hitmaker has never previously endorsed any candidate, or he has shown any indication of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates he preferred.
On twitter, the delight and surprise factor is another level.
“GLOC 9!!!!! I didn’t see that one coming!!!!” exclaimed Alexa, who even tagged the rapper’s account, in her tweet.

“Gloc 9 has given us masterpieces which the marginalized and poor population can relate to and says the words these people, we, are hesitant to say in fear of the other people who refuse to hear our reality,” commended Marc, who thanked Gloc 9 for his music.

Kath, went down the memory lane, by listing the rapper’s biggest hits.
“Upuan by Gloc-9 is a whole mood. Released in 2009, but still relevant until now! Dapat Tama, Bugtong, Balita & Walang Natira contain powerful political messages as well.
“We deserve responsible & committed leaders. Vote with your life at stake. Choose wisely before it’s too late” she tweeted.

Many netizens also drew a comparison between Gloc 9 and another Filipino rapper, Andrew E. The latter is a known staunch supporter of the defeated 2016 vice-presidentiable and the former dictator’s son, Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.
“some stinking opinions abt andrew e and gloc 9. gloc writes songs that depict political and societal issues, andrew e just raps about fucking a woman.
“They are not the same,” Aby said in her tweet as she points out the glaring difference in the two rappers’ styles.

Karla similarly noted the stark differences between Gloc 9 and Andrew E, when it comes to the themes of their music.
“andrew e writes songs about sexualizing and objectifying women, gloc 9 writes songs about political issues that needed to be told. there’s no doubt who’s the better one.”
