The Asia’s Songbird sang her out via a special performance that also marked her first appearance at a Leni-Kiko grand rally on April 23.
Regine Velasquez-Alcasid is among the guest celebrities to shine the brightest at the mammoth Leni-Kiko rally in Pasay City, on April 23. The event coincided with the birthday celebration of the Vice President, who received the historic backing of several Bangsamoro leaders in Muslim Mindanao.
The seasoned Kapamiya belter serenaded more than 412,000 Kakampinks (by 7:30 pm), the biggest so far in any Leni-Kiko people’s rally, with her popular hit, Pangako.
It took Velasquez-Alcasid a while before she finally made it to a Leni-Kiko rally. In her defense, she said that she needed to accomplish several priorities before her schedule got cleared.
“Sa totoo lang, this is probably the biggest audience na we had a privilege of performing, no?” she wondered, asking her husband, Ogie Alcasid, who joined her on the stage.

Velasquez-Alcasid has been very vocal about her support for VP Robredo’s presidential bid, but it was just today that she officially joined the already long list of stars who pledged their support for the lone female presidentiable in the 2022 national polls.
On twitter, Velasquez-Alcasid delighted many netizens who got excited about her presence at the event.

During her time on stage, she shared that her birthday almost coincided with the Vice President’s birthday.
The singer-actress-host celebrated her birthday the day earlier, April 22. The Pasay people’s rally notably united Velasquez-Alcasid with her former Sobrang Okey, pare (S.O.P. on GMA-7) stars Janno Gibbs and her husband,Ogie. Gary Valencio, whom she is currently working with via ABS-CBN’s ASAP Natin ‘To, was also present at the event.
