On May 5, Viva artist Ivan Padilla admitted he missed doing action scenes at the media conference of Breathe Again.

Padilla expressed his hopes of Vivamax offering him action projects in the future.

“Oo naman nami-miss ko ‘yung mga action films. And I think Vivamax is doing so well, I’m sure in the future, they’ll be doing iba’t ibang genre including action, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.”

However, Padilla said he enjoyed the roles he received from Viva, citing the scenes he enjoyed in Breathe Again.

“I’m enjoying the roles that Viva has given me. And even though the theme might be erotic, there’s a lot–especially in this movie, that all people can enjoy. For one thing, the motorcycle-riding scene that my character does. Some of those scenes, I think, would be pretty impressive–free diving as well. So, I can’t wait to see the movie.”

He then talked about his role in the upcoming sexy film, describing it as a person living two lives.

“Well, my character kind of lives two lives, and during the day, conservative siya, he has a good job, he has a wife, but at night, he moonlights as a very wild motorcycle rider. So for this part, I had to learn how to drive a motorcycle.”

He then detailed the preparations he made for his role, especially with the motorcycle driving.

“I’ve ridden scooters before, but this is first time. I did twelve hours of training, pero ‘yung motorcycle ko sa training, was a 150 cc bike, and then pagdating sa set, ay parang 1000ccs ‘yung bike na ibinigay sa akin, and ang bigat. So sabi ko parang, ‘Oh my God.'”

He also revealed the challenges he faced in his role and motorcycle driving.

“And to add to that, I had to have Ara as kasakay, and I haven’t even had training with someone as a kasakay, so I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ I was praying the first day, ‘Please, just don’t kill Ara. Okay, if I die, but not her, please!’ So the first few takes were interesting, but I think we got the hang of it after a hundred takes–no, a joke–after a while, I got the hang of it.”

In 2021, Padilla said he had to postpone his Hollywood career for Viva, citing that he’s contented with his acting career in the Philippines.

Padilla stars in the Viva movie Breathe Again alongside Ariella Arida and Tony Labrusca. Directed by Raffy Francisco, the movie streams on Vivamax on June 3, 2022.
