On May 26, Adrianna So, Alex Diaz, and Kych Minemoto detailed how they mounted their respective sex scenes in PaThirsty.
During the media conference for the VivaMax movie, Kych recalled working with Alex for their intimate scenes through script reading.
“Hindi naman kami nahirapan eh. Ang mahirap lang ‘yung blockings, mahirap ‘yung blockings, pero kasi kami ni Alex, nung script reading pa lang nagvi-video call kami ni Alex, tina-try naming i-run through ‘yung mga lines and ayun napagusapan namin na gawin na lang ‘yung mga dapat gawin–ako basta inisip ko nalang si Achilles na ako, let’s just do it.”
Alex highlighted the cast’s chemistry as one of the factors that made their filming easier.
“Surprisingly hindi siya naging mahirap kasi siyempre like me, I don’t identify as heterosexual right, so you’ll always have that worry na kapag isang heterosexual ang kasama mo baka may ilangan pero for some reason sobrang ganda ng chemistry namin lahat sa set, and leading up to the sex scenes.”
He also cited how director Ivan Andrew Payawal took care of them while filming their sex scenes.
“Direk took care of us. He left the sex scenes for later on para we could get to know each other. Me and Kych were like, ‘Bro, let’s do this. Let’s do it. This/ is the movie–this is the material. Wag nating sayangin ‘yung opportunity na ‘to na pagandahin ‘yung sex scene.'”
Adrianna noted how her co-actors, especially Alex, respected her boundaries and asked her consent for their intimate scenes.
“I think talaga namang lahat ng intimate scenes ay challenging, but of course, tiwala din sa director. And what’s nice about sa mga co-actors ko, especially with Alex, when we did the intimate scenes, he knows how to ask your boundaries and /your consent. Even if it was written in the script, tatanungin ka pa rin niya.”
She also pointed out their cast’s tight bond on set.
“And, the chemistry talaga ng lahat ng characters, ng lahat ng cast, sobrang tight. And talaga namang inalagaan naman talaga kami ni Direk Ivan, sa shots, sa lahat. Kung saan ‘yung comfort zone namin. Sobrang saya gawin nitong pelikula kaya sana ma-translate din sa audience.”
Director Ivan compared each intimate scene, citing the difficulty of filming Adrianna and Alex’s intimate scenes.
“Techinical wise, siguro mas nahirapan ako kay–doon sa love scene ni Adrianna and ni Alex because ‘yung body ng woman kailangan mas may sensitivity ka eh. Mayroon kang I guess a little tenderness when you approach the scenes.
“With Kych and Alex, siguro dahil pare-parehas naman kami ng itsura ng ano– medyo mabilis, medyo talagang. Di tsaka, I’m very protective of her, of a woman, ‘yung respeto doon sa hanggang saan, hanggang sa saan ako.”
