It’s Showtime hosts can’t help but poke fun at themselves after being cut off from TV5 airing.
On Monday, July 18, the noontime program on TV5 broadcast got cut off abruptly after it exceeded its 3 PM timeslot.
It’s Showtime‘s blocktime agreement with TV5 was only from 12:45PM to 3PM.
During the episode’s Tawag ng Tanghalan segment, Jhong Hilario took off his phone and did Facebook Live together with fellow hosts after TV5 cut the airing of the noontime show.
“Putol na kasi tayo sa 5 (while bursting in laughter),” Jhong quipped.
Vice Ganda then responded with another funny remark saying “Ayan wala na po tayo sa TV5, nakalive po tayo sa Facebook ngayon.”
“Sa Facebook po hanggang 4:30 kame ha!” Vice added.

While It’s Showtime hosts managed to make a joke of the situation, several netizens didn’t hide their dismay over the abrupt cutting off of It’s Showtime’s airing on TV5.
Netizen @altviceion in a tweet slammed TV5 saying It’s Showtime deserved better.

@bloomviewpoint also called out TV5 saying, “buti pa A2Z di nag ka cut ng airtime panget niyo kabonding TV5. Showtime would never be the same if it weren’t for their iconic overtimes diyan sila minahal ng madla sayang ung batuhan nila ng katuwaan kanina kita mong pressured sila sa time. buti na lang live din sa KOL at A2Z.”

@jenjenamores09 meanwhile stressed the unfair advantage of LOL against It’s Showtime. According to her since LOL airs earlier, it can take full advantage of its airing over all Kapamilya platforms compared to It’s Showtime which can be cut-off aburptly once it exceeds its allotted timeslot on TV5.

@moonstone_1996 shares the same sentiments saying it’s unfair for It’s Showtime being the more “experienced show” to be cut off abruptly on air.

It’s Showtime started its simulcast airing on TV5 on Saturday, July 16 as part of the broader collaboration between ABS-CBN and TV5.
