ABS-CBN Films Production Inc. head Kriz Anthony Gazmen announced that Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil are pursuing different paths in their respective careers.
On September 1, via an interview, Gazmen revealed LizQuen will go on separate paths.
“Liza and Enrique will now go their separate ways in terms of their careers. We recently met with Enrique, who is now ready to do projects on his own. We’re cooking something up for him.
Gazmen stated that they are still sending project offers to Soberano.
“We still have offers for Liza, but a lot of things depend on what will happen to the projects she and James (Reid) are working on at the moment. Hopefully, the timing will finally work out.”
Gazmen explained why the Kapamilya Network was not able to maximize the LizQuen tandem in the last two years, saying the timing was not right.
“Of course, every time we do projects, we first consider the ‘gods’ — I feel that KathNiel and LizQuen are already gods in ABS-CBN. We have presented several projects to Liza and Enrique, and they were very open. There were so many pitches but, for some reason, the timing was never right.
“There was a time when we were already about to shoot something and then COVID-19 cases surged. Liza and Enrique were still afraid to go out then. There were a lot of back-and-forth discussions, up until we were supposed to do another one, and then Liza decided to change career direction,” he added.
On July 17, Gil said he is supporting his girlfriend Soberano in doing solo projects.
“Pero darating po yan promise. Gusto ko muna i follow ni Hopie (Liza Soberano) yung dream nya mag hollywood mag U.S. Alam mo kung mahal mo yung tao, kahit anong gusto niyang gawin susuportahan mo talaga.”
