This week, the box office royalty KathNiel and the ‘2000s leading man Baron Geisler dominated the local Netflix movie and TV charts.
Box office royalties and powerhouse love team Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, a.k.a. KathNiel continues their domination on Netflix Philippines, as their top-rating primetime series, 2 Good 2 Be True, remains the most streamed TV show on the streaming giant’s local top TV shows chart. The series has been in the Top 10 since its debut in May, this year. It notably aired its 100th episode in September, making it one of few local TV shows aired during the pandemic, to reach such a milestone. It is slated to end its very successful run in November.
Doll House, a heartwarming film starred by former ‘2000s leading man Baron Geisler and rising child star Althea Ruedas, is similarly reigning on the platform but the top movie chart. The Marla Ancheta-helmed drama quickly climbed up to the streaming giant’s top movie chart since its Netflix debut on October 7.
The film follows Rustin Villanueva (Geisler), a rock band frontman and a drug addict who returned to the Netherlands to reunite with his daughter and heal himself [in the process]. Geisler’s heartfelt and powerful portrayal of a man trying to redeem himself by reconnecting with the people he loves the most–melted the hearts of many viewers who have [so far] seen the film.
Meanwhile, KathNiel keeps its grip over its loyal fans and even casual viewers, who have fallen head-over-heels for the endearing love story shared by Ali (Kathryn Bernardo) and Elorde (Daniel Padilla).
