Following years of absence on the dance floor, the former ASAP regular is now looking forward to her grand comeback.
Shaina Magdayao is preparing for her long-awaited return to ASAP Natin ‘To’s dance floor. She shared the news on Magandang Buhay, last Tuesday, October 25. The talented actress was notably one of the mainstay dance royalties of the Kapamilya Sunday noontime musical variety show for years before she decided to focus on doing teleseryes. She was part of the longest-running Kapamilya TV series, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, from 2020 to 2022.
Asked what her plans are, now that her showbiz schedule is now less busy, she shared how she has been working out her upcoming return to the dance floor, especially on ASAP Natin To’s.
“Of course, I’m looking forward to traveling again kasi ngayon medyo nag-ease up na ‘yung pandemic restrictions. ‘Yun yung nilolook forward ko. Tapos dahil matagal na akong nag-absent sa dance floor, now I’m back…so sabi ko kasi paghahandaan ko dahil ilang years ako walang sayaw.
“(Now that most pandemic restrictions are lifted, I look forward to traveling again. That’s what I look forward. Also, because I’ve been absent on the dance floor for quite a while already, I am back. I told myself, I need to prepare for it because I haven’t been dancing for years),” she told Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Melai Cantiveros, and Jolina Magdangal, who all screamed in excitement when she began sharing her plans to go back.
She then shared her liking for a dance routine, which she hopes to perform once she gets back in ASAP.
“‘So now, bago ako tumapak ng G-Force dance studio, nag-flamenco muna ako.Yun lang naman, kasi dahil nasayaw-sayaw ko na siya sa ASAP, ngayon, interested ako to really learn the art of flamenco, kasi hindi naman siya basta-basta sayaw lang.
“(I decided to learn flamenco first, before setting foot on the G-Force Studio. I already tried doing it before in ASAP, but now, I am more interested in learning the art of flamenco. Because it isn’t merely a dance),” she added.
Magdayao was a part of various dance groups during her time in ASAP, the most notable of which is the dance group, UD4, which also included Rayver Cruz, Maja Salvador, and John Prats.
