The night was capped with a ‘kilig frenzy’-sending declaration of love between real-life sweethearts Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz.
Talent burst the moment Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz dominated the stage at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, last November 26. There was nothing short of a spectacle in the theater with ecstatic fans cheering for San Jose and Cruz. This was in addition to the massive show happening on the stage.
Devoted fans from all over the country flocked to the venue. Other Kapuso stars and celebrity friends also came to show their relentless appreciation for the duo’s enormous talent. Rising Kapuso love team, Mavy Legaspi and Kyline Alcantara, a.k.a. MavLine, graced the stage to offer the crowd a special guest performance.
For their opener, San Jose and Cruz delighted and brought the audience to their feet with current TikTok hits. The duo shimmered on the stage wearing matching metallic silver outfits. The couple both took turns dominating the stage, but the night was arguably most memorable when the couple shared the spotlight together. The two notably made the whole theater fall in love, with their medley of today’s top OPM hits, including Adie’s Paraluman and Mahika (with Janine Berdin), and Zack Tabudlo’s Asan Ka Na Ba?
Hopeless romantics got nostalgic with the couple’s rendition of I Belong to the Zoo’s love anthem, Sana. According to San Jose and Cruz, this is one of their most memorable songs. The couple made their fans scream “kilig” as they shared playful moments, which ended with them thanking each other.
What capped the night and made the audience scream the loudest, however, was the declaration of love that the Diamond-selling Kapuso recording star pulled off, before the end of the show.
San Jose declared, “Ang dami nang nagbago sa buhay ko simula nang dumating ka. Kaya gusto kong sabihin na ‘I love you, too’.” This was the statement that served as her response to the declaration of love Cruz made during her birthday celebration in May.
JulieVerse marked the second time that San Jose and Cruz shared the concert stage together. The latter was a special guest for the final installment of the former’s Limitless trilogy in April. It also marked the first time they publicly declared their love for each other, which was the subject of speculation among fans for several months.
