Dapitan City Mayor and TAPE Inc. Board Treasurer Bullet Jalosjos said that the reports circulating online about the alleged rebranding of Eat Bulaga! are fake news.
According to Jojo Gabinete in his PEP article published on March 15, Jalosjos labeled rumors about Tuviera was booted out or Tito, Vic, and Joey leaving the show as mere fake news. The TAPE Inc. executive also added that people should wait for their press conference to know the “real score” about Eat Bulaga!
“Let’s just wait for the presscon.”
To address all concerns, speculations, and the future of the country’s longest-running noontime show, TAPE Inc. management will hold a press conference on April 15,
Meanwhile, amid the ongoing internal conflict within Eat Bulaga! management–two of its main hosts, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon, threw cryptic one-liners.
During the show’s Bawal Judgemental segment on its March 11 episode, Sotto and de Leon seemingly took a potshot at the ongoing internal struggle in the show.
In response to an Eat Bulaga! scholar, who came to thank the program for allowing him to continue his studies, de Leon made a meaningful remark.
“Sana wag mawala yung Eat Bulaga!. Yun lang… yun lang… di ba…” he said.
Sotto didn’t let the opportunity pass either and threw another ambiguous statement, which elicited support from a shouting crowd.
“Galing, galing. Proud kami sa inyo. Tapos gaganunin mo lang, no?”
Eat Bulaga! has been at the center of controversy for weeks now.
According to online reports and rumors, former Congressman Romeo Jalosjos is allegedly forcing Tuviera out of the noontime show by buying out his shares in TAPE Inc.
If Tuviera is booted out, its original hosts–Tito, Vic, and Joey, with other Dabarkadss will also leave out of respect for Tuviera, who’s been handling the noontime show since its start in 1979.
