On February 21, artist Gold Aceron said he would want his exes to watch his stage performance in DickTalk.
At the media event for the theater production DickTalk, Aceron hoped that his exes see a more serious side of him through his role.
“Well, siguro ipapanood ko to sa mga ex ko siguro kung ganon. O baka ewan ko, kahit sino na lang siguro.
“Wala naman, kasi feeling ko maling-mali ako sa mga nagawa ko dati kasi medyo makulit ako. Ipapakita ko lang sa kanila na ito ‘yung totoong minahal ninyo. Ito seryoso na.”
He then cited his experience as a newbie in taking on a theatrical production.
“Ako dahil bago po siya sa akin, ‘yung teatro gusto ko pa po kasing matuto pa lalo, tapos ang alam ko teatro, iba siya, iba ‘yung atake, iba ‘yung galaw, iba ‘yung pag-aaral mo sa character, ‘yung bawat gagawin mo iba.
“So para sa akin, parang feeling ko mas matuto ako so noong tinanggap ko ‘to, hindi na mahirap kasi naka-work ko na rin naman si Direk Phil sa PETA, and ‘yun po gi-no ko po talaga ito kasi gusto ko pa po mag-explore and happy ako sa kwento ng DickTalk.”
When asked if he was ready to perform in full nude, Aceron replied, “Sa ganyan di ko pa po alam kay Direk kung ano ‘yung plano ni Direk para sa akin. Pero ako, para mas mapaganda lang lahat, go ako kung ano ‘yung sabihin ni Direk.”
DickTalk, a creation of Edwin Vinarao with Ara Vicencio and Benj Cruz Garcia, follows the story of five people embodying different yet relatable life experiences of men across all ages– a teenager (Gold Aceron), a trans man (Nil Nodalo), a sex worker (Jake Cuenca), a metrosexual (Mikoy Morales), and a senior (Archi Adamos).
Under the direction of Phil Noble, with the producers V-Roll Media Ventures and Trifecta Brand Lab, DickTalk has10 shows during its limited run at the RCBC Theater from April 15-23.
