On February 23, JC Regino, son of April Boy Regino, detailed why he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps.

At the media conference for his latest ‘GMA Music’ single ‘Idolo,’ Regino said he has always been passionate about music like his father.

So when he reached the age of 14, he learned how to compose songs; a God-given talent he likes to share.

He then clarified that he feels more proud than pressured to be his father’s son and live up to April Boy Regino’s name.

He couldn’t deny the pressure although instead of thinking of this as something negative, he’d always reflect on how proud he is of being the son of “the” April Boy Regino. He said, “Kaya kapag sinasabing daddy mo pala si April po, tuwang-tuwa po ako, masayang masaya po ako.”

He also recounted his memorable bonding moments with the late OPM artist.

Similarly, he recalls his father’s advice: to put 100% of yourself into whatever you do.

He then shared his emotional message for his late father, who passed away in November 2020.

Kahit anong mangyari.’ ‘Yun nga po nanghina na po siya, so ayun Dad, I miss you so much, mahal na mahal ko po kayo. As in walang makakahigit sa inyo bilang ama.”

As for his latest single, JC Regino’s ‘Idolo’, released under GMA Music, is already available for streaming on all music platforms.
