At the media conference for ‘Battle of the Judges,’ Alden Richards talked about his busy schedule and enumerated his numerous projects.
Richards is the host of GMA Network’s upcoming show which starts airing on July 15. The show features a fresh format where the judges will battle it out against one another, while the contestants will face-off on knock-out duels.
Boy Abunda, Bea Alonzo, Annette Gozon-Valdez, and Jose Manalo are set to appear as celebrity judges.
Aside from hosting the show, Richards is expected to star in two major films this year.
“Kakatapos ko lang po ng movie with Julia Montes tapos tinatapos ko po yung movie with Ms. Sharon Cuneta,” the actor said.
Directed by Irene Villamor, ‘Five Break-ups and a Romance’ marks the film comeback of Richards and the acting return of Montes. The film follows a romance story that tackles the complexities of relationships and careers.
Richards also started filming for ‘A Mother and Son’s Story’ with Sharon Cuneta last June. The film is an official entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.
The actor was also supposed to star alongside Bea Alonzo for the Philippine adaptation of the Japanese TV drama ‘Pure Soul.’ After Alonzo withdrew from the project, Richards said that the film would most likely be scheduled next year.
“Most likely baka pero ngayon po, naghihintay lang po ako ng advise ng management.”
The actor also talked about other non-movie projects cooking up this year. He is set to act in four stories for the first month-long feature of ‘Magpakailanman.’
“For the month of august, parang first time po gagawin ng magpakailanman ang isang feature. Isang buong month po ako po ang magpoportray na apat na different stories.”
Richards was recently spotted filming for the project with actress Sanya Lopez. Other details of the project are yet to be known.
Aside from the ‘Magpakailanman’ project, Richards also has two out-of-the-country gigs this August.
“And then meron po akong dalawang out-of-the-country for august. Isa pong L.A. for GMA Pinoy TV and then Dubai din po for GMA Pinoy TV.”
GMA Pinoy TV is a growing popular channel that caters to Filipinos abroad.
The actor also teased about his upcoming concert whose details are still confidential.
“May niluluto pong concert na medyo confidential pa,” Richards said.
Richards also revealed that he is preparing for a gaming tournament.
“Yung commitment ko po sa, meron po akong ima-mount na gaming tournament ulit pero this time katulong na po namin yung mismong company na may-ari ng laro so tinap na po kame,” the actor said.
In 2022, Richards previously launched his own Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Esports Tournament known as the ‘Myriad Esports Cup’ for amateur players.
When asked about a possible TV series this year, the actor said, “Ah soap, sa ngayon po baka if not late this year po, baka early next year.”
