At the media conference for Alden Richards’ upcoming project ‘Battle of the Judges’ last July 9, the actor revealed that he no longer sees a possibility for him to come back to the noontime show with TVJ in light of the recent issue.

“And ngayon nga po na medyo tuluyan na talaga parang nawalan ng possibility na makabalik po ako sa ‘Eat Bulaga!’ It’s because of different network and exclusive po ako so medyo nakakalungkot,” Richards said.
TVJ (Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon) shook the nation’s noontime programming after announcing their departure from TAPE Inc., the production company of ‘Eat Bulaga!’ The departure was due to an internal conflict going on with the company and the hosts.
The hosts soon found a new home in TV5, replacing ‘It’s Showtime’ on the channel’s noontime slot. The TVJ show now called ‘E.A.T’ started its TV5 broadcast last July 1.
Richards, formerly called ‘Pambansang Bae,’ was the other half of the iconic AlDub with Maine Mendoza of the original ‘Eat Bulaga!’ Even after the end of AlDub, both Richards and Mendoza remained as members of the Dabarkads.
Richards previously took a break from hosting the noontime show for a year to focus on his other projects, mainly on his businesses and the production company Myriad. He returned to the noontime show on March 11 this year.
In the eventual departure of TVJ, Richards was not part of the mainstays that followed the trio to TV5 due to his exclusive contract with GMA Network.
The actor, however, showed his love for the noontime show and his support for TVJ through an Instagram post.
On his Instagram account, he posted a picture of him on the ‘Eat Bulaga!’ set with the caption, “Always and forever…”
He posted another photo featuring him and Vic Sotto with their backs against each other.
