On July 21, Kapuso actor and Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards expressed how he wanted to reinvent his point of view as an artist.
At the media conference for ‘Magpakailanman,’ which LionhearTV covered, Richards highlighted how his stint at the GMA Network anthology series helped reinvent his perspective as an actor.
“It’s very challenging kasi contrast sila sa isa’t isa. Walang similarities ‘yung mga roles. And I think I’m– as an actor, I’m looking for something that’s not the usual. Marami na rin po akong nagawang mga projects and parang doon tayo sa laging ‘yung nare-reinvent ‘yung point of view ko pagdating sa trabaho ko bilang actor.”
He then noted how the quickly-changing and independent storylines challenged him when immediately switching between his roles and characters.
“So with this opportunity, I’m very– actually noong in-offer po ito sa akin, talagang I said, we have to– kailangan ko siyang gawin kasi nakaka-miss rin umarte talaga ng sa TV. Especially tapos ang kinaganda pa nito, hindi siya linear, hindi siya iisang istorya lang na parang teleserye. So every week, nagpapalit tayo ng role, ganon kabilis. Ganon kabilis ‘yung transition.
“And na-eenjoy ko ‘yung journey na parang ang laki ng naiaambag niya sa akin. Ang dami ko din nadi-discover lately, how I switch characters from– kasi ‘yung taping namin, one week lang ‘yung interval.”
He then voiced how much he enjoyed his all-month Magpakailanman special.
“So I really have to study the script and transition from one character to another in a snap of a finger. Pero, nae-enjoy ko siya, sobra. Kaya thankful po ako sa buong team ng– of course, sa GMA and the whole team of MPK, especially the creatives for giving me this opportunity.”
As for his upcoming Magpakailanman special, Richards stars in four different episodes of the Kapuso anthology series starting August 5.
The episodes include ‘A Runner To Remember,’ ‘Epal Dream Boy,’ ‘The Lost Boy,’ and ‘Sa Puso at Isipan.’
