On August 3, the Kapamilya actress Charlie Dizon admitted that she felt touched by Carlo Aquino’s comment on being open about their relationship.
At the media event for ‘Third World Romance,’ which LionhearTV covered, Dizon said she felt happy and touched with Aquino’s statement about being open with their dating status.
“Siyempre, nakaka-touch. Hindi actually, ‘yung mga ganong bagay hindi rin naman namin napag-uusapan masyado. So nakita ko na lang ‘yung article na ‘yung interview na ganon, na ganito pala ‘yung nangyari sa amin.
“Pero, of course, happy ako. I mean kung masaya ko bakit hindi mo ipangangalangdakan di ba? Kasi, it’s not a bad thing na maging masaya. So happy po ako na ito ‘yung sa amin and I’m proud of him.”
Aquino then responded to the detractors of his and Dizon’s relationship, citing how they focus on people that accept their loving partnership.
“Pero meron at meron pa rin, mayroon pa rin nagagalit, mga nanlalait, pero wala na kaming magagawa doon, basta ‘yung mga taong malapit sa amin at mahal kami, masaya sila para sa amin. ‘Yun na lang ang mas pinapakinggan namin.”
The couple also highlighted how and why they decided to be open with their relationship.
Aquino noted that revealing their romantic involvement came naturally.
“Para wala namang nag-decide, parang tinanong ninyo lang kami. Tapos sinabi na namin na we’re dating tapos kami na. Tapos nangyari lang siya naturally. Parang walang pumilit, kaya ganon, kaya magaan siguro sa loob namin.”
Dizon pointed out that the media event for their upcoming film was the only time they came out together as a couple.
“Honestly, ngayon rin lang naman kami nagkaroon ng chance na lumabas together, na may press and kasama ‘yung (cast). Kumbaga sa entertainment world, lalabas kayo together kasi usually, magkakaiba kami ng projects.
“Ako rin naman hindi na-iinterview lately, parang kailan lang rin ako lumabas nitong movie at teleserye po namin. Pero ‘yun siguro, ngayon lang rin kami nag ka-chance na makita na.”
Earlier, Aquino responded to questions about his closeness with Dizon on social, admitting that he was getting to know the award-winning actress at the time.
As for their upcoming film, ‘Third World Romance’ stars Carlo Aquino and Charlie Dizon.
The cast also features Esnyr, Xilhouete, NAIA Black, Iya Mina, and Lady Morgana.
Under the direction of Dwein Ruedas Baltazar, ‘Third World Romance’ premieres on August 12 as the capping film of Cinemalaya 2023. After that, they have a premiere night on August 15 and open in cinemas nationwide on August 16.
