On August 16, Kapamilya actress Janine Gutierrez considered her role ‘Dirty Linen’ one of the best gifts with her transfer to ABS-CBN.
At the media conference for the finale week of ‘Dirty Linen,’ which LionhearTV covered, Gutierrez remarked that her role as Alexa in the series is one of her favorite roles in her career.
“Sobra, yes talaga. Ito na siguro ‘yung favorite ko na role kasi gustong-gusto ko kapag ‘yung character hindi lang basta mabait, or hindi lang, ‘yung ang daming layers ng bawat character.”
She also felt thankful that people trusted her to take on the role.
“And sobrang thankful ako na, na napagkatiwalaan ako to play Alexa kasi like dati nasabihan na ako na, ‘Ah hindi ka masyado pwedeng mag-play ng mga ganyang mga roles, kasi masyado kang mestiza, or ganyan.’ Or nasabihan na ako na hanggang ganon lang ‘yung pwede kong gawing role dahil sa itsura ko.”
She also appreciated that Dreamscape did not typecast her and gave her a fleshed-out character with ‘Dirty Linen.’
“So sobrang thankful ko talaga sa Dreamscape and kay sir Deo and sa mga directors namin dahil talagang nabigyan ako ng pagkakataon na magawa ‘yung ganitong klaseng role na ganito talaga ‘yung gusto ko na lumalaban, hindi one-sided.
“‘Yung hindi mo alam kung maiinis ka sa kaniya or kakampihan mo siya, or maawa ka, or maasar ka. So yes, I’m so grateful talaga and happy to have been able to play Alexa.”
