In a recent interview on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ on September 4, former ‘It’s Showtime’ host Billy Crawford candidly discussed the changing dynamics of his friendships with his former co-hosts from the popular noontime show.
He revealed that due to their busy lives, he and his wife, actress Coleen Garcia, who is also a former ‘It’s Showtime’ host, have limited time to maintain their friendships.
When questioned about his relationships with the show’s hosts, Crawford acknowledged that he occasionally plays basketball with Vhong Navarro and has even visited his house.
However, he admitted that their friendships have evolved significantly, saying, “So, the relationship has changed; to be honest, it’s not like it used to be.”
Crawford emphasized that the dynamics of their friendships shifted dramatically when he and Garcia started a family. He noted, “Everything completely changed” after their family life took precedence.
Host Boy Abunda inquired whether the couple wished they could improve their friendships, to which Garcia responded that when they are physically present, the friendships still feel intact.
She explained, “When they’re there, nando’n naman e (the [friendship] is there). It’s like we know so many people and we don’t even keep up with our friends that we’ve known for so long.”
Crawford concurred that all relationships can benefit from enhanced communication and understanding. He recognized that numerous changes had transpired in their lives over the past three years, influencing their relationships with friends.
Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia began their relationship in 2014 while they were both part of ‘It’s Showtime.’ Garcia exited the show in 2016, followed by Crawford’s departure in 2018.
Meanwhile, ‘It’s Showtime’ recently faced a 12-day suspension from the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) due to alleged “indecent acts” involving show hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez. ABS-CBN has declared its intention to file a motion for reconsideration regarding the MTRCB’s decision.
