Jake Ejercito, Agot Isidro, other celebs commemorate martial law anniversary

As the nation commemorates the declaration of martial law, numerous celebrities turned to social media to convey their thoughts and remember one of the darkest chapters in our history.

On Thursday, September 21, Kapamilya actor Jake Ejercito posted screenshots from the film “Smaller and Smaller Circles,” which delves into the atrocities of martial law. His caption read, “#NeverForget.”

Singer-actress Agot Isidro took to Twitter to express her sentiments, tweeting, “We not only normalize stealing, we even legalize it. #LifeInThePH.”

Former Senator Kiko Pangilinan shared a photo of what appeared to be the UP Oblation statue, with the text “We remember #NeverAgain.”

Aika Robredo, on the other hand, tweeted a quote from Rep. Edcel Lagman’s recent statement, adding the caption, “Never forget. Former Senator Bam Aquino shared art cards containing statistics on the number of people detained and tortured during martial law and its profound impact on the country’s economy. His caption included “#NeverForget.”

Former Quezon Province Representative Erin Tanada reiterated that martial law is an undeniable fact and that the nation’s history should not be rewritten.

Director Rod Singh also used the hashtags #NeverAgain and #NeverForget, along with a screenshot of Manila Luzon’s closing spiels during the pilot episode of Drag Den Philippines, where she emphasized that aside from Filipino talents, the country is also known for having experienced the world’s greatest government robbery.
