GMA Network’s popular family gameshow, ‘Family Feud,’ is making a strong comeback in the ratings game.

After its return to the pre-primetime slot on Monday, October 2, the gameshow is showing promising signs of regaining its former dominance.
According to the Nielsen NUTAM People survey, ‘Family Feud’ made an impressive return with a rating of 9.1 percent, securing the fifth spot in the overall rating chart, tied with another Kapuso favorite, ‘Magandang Dilag.’
Before its season break, ‘Family Feud’ had already proven its ability to outperform even the primetime programs of GMA Network. On October 28, 2022, the show achieved its all-time high ratings of 16 percent, surpassing GMA Network’s historical-portal fantasy series ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra,’ and taking the second position in the ratings chart.
Comparing its comeback to its first season’s pilot ratings, ‘Family Feud’ has shown significant improvement. In its season 1 pilot episode on March 21, 2022, the game show scored 6.0 percent, marking a notable increase of 3.1 percent on its return.
Not only did ‘Family Feud’ perform better than its own first season, but it also boosted the ratings of its time slot compared to its predecessor. ‘Dapat Alam Mo,’ which preceded ‘Family Feud,’ although scoring decent ratings, typically reached an average of 6 to 8 percent and mostly occupied the seventh position in the overall ratings board.
In contrast, ‘Family Feud’ left its first replacement after the season 1 finale, ‘Luv Is: Love at First Read (LAFR),’ far behind. The series, starring Mavy Legaspi and Kyline Alcantara, plummeted to the 13th position and posted a meager rating as low as 3.9 percent.
With ‘Family Feud’ making a strong comeback in the pre-primetime slot, the question arises: will its success help boost the ratings of other Kapuso post-programs as well? Only time will tell.
