On October 13, Kapuso music artist Anton Paras admitted that he felt surprised with his AWIT Awards nomination.
At the media event for his new single ‘Can’t Wait,’ which LionhearTV covered, Paras recounted how he found out about his AWIT Awards nomination.
“Super nagulat po ako noong nakita ko na lang po sa post na–tinag po ako ni si Pao, sir Paolo Agudelo na sa Instagram, sa story na nandoon po ako, na ‘Oy, nandito pala ako sa Awit Awards.’ Nagulat na lang po ako tapos ayun po pinost ko na po, pinakita ko po sa mga friends and families, nagulat din po sila na nandoon na ako.”
Paras got a nomination for the 36th AWIT Awards for the People’s Voice Favorite Male Artist category.
Aside from getting a surprise AWIT Awards nod, he also noted his dream of performing in concert venues.
“So far, I want to perform po sa Mall of Asia or sa Philippine Arena.”
He also highlighted his mission to inspire aspiring music artists to pursue their dreams.
“My mission po is to influence other singers who wants to share their talents and parang makapagbigay po sa mga kabataan po na to pursue their dreams, kasi wala naman pong mawawala if they try to pursue their dreams.
“And my goal po is to be a successful singer, hopefully, and sana po, ‘yun po, I can achieve all my dreams as a singer.”
As for Paras’ latest single, ‘Can’t Wait’ is his latest venture into Pop R&B, expressing music about long-distance relationships.
He previously released ‘All I Need’ and ‘Binabalewala’ under GMA Music’s sub-label, Alt-G Records.
