After the successful run of the Afternoon Prime series ‘Magandang Dilag,’ Herlene Budol takes on a new challenge in the action-packed series ‘Black Rider.’
The Kapuso star, known for her entertaining and lively persona, is set to bring her talents to a different genre.
In an interview on ‘Chika Minute’ with Cata Tibayan on November 15, Herlene shared her journey to Manila, revealing that she once knelt in prayer at Quiapo Church when she had nothing. Expressing gratitude for the opportunities that have come her way, Herlene looks back on her humble beginnings.
“Nagluhod po ako dito sa harapan tapos pumasok po ako dun sa loob, nag-pray din po ako talaga, nag-thank you po ako, siyempre maraming trabaho ‘yung pumapasok sa atin,” she shared.
‘Magandang Dilag’ recently concluded, and now Herlene is diving into the world of ‘Black Rider.’ She expressed her joy at being part of the primetime series, emphasizing that her new character, Pretty, shares some similarities with her previous role, Gigi/Greta.
Herlene also gave insights into her character Pretty, describing her as someone who loves deeply but doesn’t receive the same love in return. Pretty’s story, according to Herlene, unfolds as a mix of happiness and a dose of reality.
When asked about her willingness to engage in action scenes, Herlene, who has transitioned from being a beauty queen to an actress, enthusiastically expressed her excitement for the challenge. She conveyed her openness to portraying an action star and is looking forward to embracing this new aspect of her career.
‘Black Rider’ viewers have already expressed positive feedback about Herlene’s unexpected entry into the show. The series airs Monday to Friday, following ’24 Oras’on GMA Telebabad. Fans can anticipate surprising and thrilling scenes as Herlene takes on her action-packed role in ‘Black Rider.’
