On November 14, Iza Calzado hinted at talks of a future action-genre project with the director of ‘Shake, Rattle, and Roll: Extreme,’ Richard Somes.

At the media conference for ‘Shake, Rattle, and Roll: Extreme,’ which LionhearTV covered, Calzado first recounted her excitement about doing action projects like her role in ‘Darna.’

“Bakit di pa ba ako nag-action ulit, ang sakit kaya ng balakang ko doon sa Darna. If it’s– si Somes talaga, if it’s the right project, it’s the right time, I would love to.”

She then clarified that while there were discussions about doing an action-genre project, she and her director had not entered negotiations yet.

“Walang negotiations, explorations, baka pwede pa. But ako–sobrang, ang gusto ko kasi like sa Darna, noong gumawa ako ng Darna, ang sarap noon eh, nagte-training ka lang tapos your getting ready for that, tapos gawin mo. Parang I get to be active because I really love doing that, and I get to learn a new skill, and I get to be on set, ang saya. Pero ngayon, siyempre, okay, how is that now with Deia around.”

However, she maintained that she was open to doing an action project with Somes.

“I’m very open and would love to do something na align. Mayroon siyang binanggit, I’m excited about it. I don’t know when we will do it if we shoot, I don’t know. Pero mas exciting ‘yung nasa utak ni Somes.”

She also recounted what it was like working with Somes before he became a director.

“First time ko siyang makatrabaho as a director, because I used to work with him as PD pa siya, Panday, and Juaquin Bordado, so ngayon ko lang siya nakatrabaho as director. Sobrang cool niya, tawa ako ng tawa sa kaniya.”

As for their upcoming film, the three-part horror movie ‘Shake, Rattle, & Roll: Extreme’ features three stories, ‘Mukbang,’ ‘Rage,’ and ‘Glitch.’

‘Mukbang,’ under the direction of Jerold Tarog, features Jane Oineza, RK Bagatsing, Paul Salas, AC Bonifacio, Jana Taladro, Esnyr Ranollo Ninong Rhy, Ian Gimena, Francis Mata, and Elle Villanueva.

‘Rage,’ directed by Joey De Guzman, features Jane De Leon, Rob Gomez, Paolo Gumabao, Bryce Eusebio, Mika Reyes, Sarah Edwards, and Dustin Yu.

‘Glitch,’ helmed by Richard Somes, features Iza Calzado, Angel Guardian, Miggs Cuaderno, and Donna Cariaga.

‘Shake, Rattle, & Roll: Extreme’ opens in cinemas starting November 29.
