Comedian and talent manager Ogie Diaz responded to the verbal attacks from John Soberano, the father of former ward Liza Soberano.
The exchange occurred amidst the controversy surrounding the breakup of popular love team Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, with John expressing strong resentment towards Ogie and fellow showbiz personality Cristy Fermin for alleged interference in the lives of others.
Screenshots of John Soberano’s explicit Facebook posts were featured on the ‘Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update,’ where he criticized both Ogie and Cristy and threatened to reveal more about Ogie in an upcoming live session, suggesting they had awakened the “BEAST.”
Ogie Diaz, known for his straightforward commentary, responded by questioning the source of John’s anger, given that the current topic of discussion was the KathNiel breakup and not the involvement of his daughter, Liza. Ogie emphasized that they had not recently meddled in the Soberano family’s affairs, addressing John’s threat of going live and expressing eagerness to respond appropriately.
“Pinakialaman namin buhay n’yo recently daddy? Ang pinag-uusapan na ngayon at pinag-uusapan ng buong mundo ay ‘yung pagtatapos ng relasyon ng KathNiel. Asan ka doon? Asan ang anak mo dun? Ikaw magsabi asaan?,” Ogie retorted.
Despite John’s initial threat to go live with additional revelations, he eventually deleted the announcement. Ogie, in turn, expressed no fear and welcomed any potential disclosures. He reminded John of the support he received during Liza’s early career, highlighting Liza’s role as the primary supporter in their family.
“Diyos ko naman daddy, ang dali-dali mong makalimot. Ano ba, mag-iisa-isa ba tayo? Mag-e-enumerate ba tayo ng mga nagawa nating kabayanihan sa isa’t isa? Gusto mo ba ganun? Unang-una daddy, gusto ko kayong ibalik sa nakaraan. Hindi ko naman sinasabing naghihirap kayo pero wala rin naman kayo noong araw. Si Liza lang talaga ang nagtaguyod sa inyo. Ni hindi ka nga marunong magpasalamat… Daddy ‘wag ako. Kasi kung may alam ka tungkol sa’kin, mas marami akong alam tungkol sa’yo. Kung gusto mo lang na magbulatlatan tayo dito,” Ogie stated.
