On December 18, Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards detailed his plans to return to taping for his latest Kapuso series ‘Pulang Araw’ once he returns from his 2-week vacation.
During his Thanksgiving Party, which LionhearTV attended, Richards remarked that he is ‘game’ or ready to start working on the much-anticipated Kapuso drama once he returns to the Philippines in mid-January.
“Pulang Araw, coming soon, January 2024, parang next year mag start na kaming mag-taping doon. Sa ngayon parang nag-start na sila, pero puro bata ‘yung shino-shoot, so by that time siguro, pagbalik ko sa vacation, game na ako.”
Richards stars in Kapuso drama with Sanya Lopez, Barbie Forteza, and David Licauco.
The Kapuso star discussed his previous experiences working with his co-stars in the upcoming teleserye.
“I’ve worked–actually, I’ve worked with Sanya before, with Barbie din sa mga anthologies, si David hindi ko pa siya nakaka-work pa, pero what I’m looking forward dito is the story we’re going to tell. World War II siya eh.”
He then revealed that their director, Dominic Zapata, got emotional during their story conference for Pulang Araw.
“First time ko actually noong story con na in my 13 years na makita si Direk Dominic Zapata, umiyak siya habang nagpre-present. Ganon kabigat sa kaniya ‘yung concept. And parang come to think of it.”
His experience during their story conference helped him realize the sacrifice of Filipinos in World War II in ensuring the freedom Pinoys enjoy today.
‘Yun din ‘yung na-realize ko na if not for the sacrifices of the people during the World War II–of the Filipino people during World War II, we wouldn’t be experiencing this freedom right now.
“Doon siya naging emotional, and there were different anecdotes and stories ng mga taong nakausap niya na sobrang nag-fuel sa akin. This is actually one of the most important teleseryes for me in 2024.”
Aside from Pulang Araw, Richards recently worked in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 entry ‘Family of Two’ with Sharon Cuneta.
Aside from his acting career, Richards also has directorial debut with the film with the working title ‘Out of Order’ and stars Heaven Peralejo.
