On January 17, Kapamilya actress Elisse Joson discussed her views about working as a solo artist and in love teams.
At the media conference for the Pira-Pirasong Paraiso finale, which LionhearTV covered, Joson emphasized that venturing as a solo artist is a significant part of her career, citing how she gets to explore and grow her craft.
“Yes, I think a lot of personal development and also development in terms of career and the quality of work. Mas siyempre, mas nakakapag-explore and mas–kumbaga mas mayroon kang mahuhugot sa sarili because you know that you’re not relying on anybody else but yourself.
“So parang sa akin, masaya ‘yung mayroon kang kasama na ka-love team or ka-partner. But we have to grow. Parang ano lang ‘yan eh, parang bata na mag-start ng adult life niya. Parang ganon ko po nakikita.”
She noted how working with other artists instead of exclusively getting tied with partners would help develop her talents as an actress.
“We [have to] learn to work with other people [in order] to grow and develop our craft. So thankful po ako na nandito na ako pagiging solo artist.”
However, when asked who she would want to partner with, Joson said she wanted to work with her real-life partner, McCoy De Leon.
“But of course, I would want to work with siyempre–siyempre I would love to work with my partner.”
