Barbie Forteza and David Licauco, popularly known as Team BarDa, reminisced about their initial meeting during a recent appearance on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ on Monday, February 12.
Licauco shared insights into their first close encounter when he auditioned to potentially star opposite Forteza in the 2017 Kapuso series ‘Meant To Be.’
Admitting to feeling intimidated by Forteza’s established reputation in the industry, Licauco vividly recalled entering the audition room and being struck by her presence, which he found slightly daunting.
Licauco shared, “I just remember na sinabi sa akin ng handler ko at that time, na mag-o-audition daw ako kasama si Barbie Forteza and at that time Barbie is already like on top of showbiz na. Sikat na siya no’n so medyo nakaka-intimidate naman talaga.”
Forteza, with a playful tone, teasingly questioned Licauco if she had come across as aloof during their first interaction. Licauco, attributing his nervousness to overthinking, humorously speculated that Forteza might have found him charming, a notion Forteza promptly dismissed with laughter.
“So suplada ako? Hindi ko kasi maalala,” Forteza answered while laughing.
Despite Licauco’s initial jitters, Forteza extended her support, acknowledging the challenges of auditions for newcomers and offering encouragement to Licauco.
Presently, Forteza and Licauco are preparing for their roles in the upcoming series ‘Pulang Araw,’ where they will share the screen with fellow Kapuso stars Sanya Lopez and Alden Richards.
