On January 19, Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado recounted the challenge while taping the time loop scenes for Love. Die. Repeat.
At the GMA Regional TV media event for Sinulog 2024, which LionhearTV covered, Mercado cited how the production had to pay attention to the continuity of their scenes, especially after they had to halt taping for two years.
“Naka-time loop siya so paulit-ulit. Mahirap siya kasi– ito backstory lang, para lang mabigyan lang kayo ng idea, ‘yung mga shinoot namin ng 2021, nasa time loop na ‘yun, kasama ‘yun sa mga time loop na eksena.
“So, pinasa nila sa ibang production team, so medyo nahirapan kasi mula continuity, mula each damit, itsura ng buhok, itsura ng katawan namin, ‘yun literal lahat, ‘yung continuity dapat eksaktong eksakto.
“Dalawang taon na naming hindi shinoshoot pero biglang bumalik kami ng 2023. Mahirap talaga. Kaya bilib na bilib ako sa team namin kasi hindi talaga madali na ‘yung continuity simula noong 2 years ago tapos ibabalik mo.”
She also highlighted how the cast and crew ensured that each time loop scenes had unique sequences.
“Bukod doon, mahirap din ‘yung paulit-ulit na mga eksena na kailangan mong iba-ibahin ‘yung mga atake bawat araw. So everytime na umuulit siya, paano mo gagawing mas interesting, paano mo mas gagawing iba. So ‘yun ang challenge sa amin pati sa whole production.”
