GMA Network executives are anticipating a strengthened relationship with ABS-CBN following the historic agreement granting another platform to the popular Kapamilya noontime show ‘It’s Showtime.’
Set to commence on April 6, the iconic program will not only continue its broadcast on GTV but will also be aired on GMA Network’s main channel, promising a broader reach for its viewers.
During the contract signing ceremony held at the GMA Studio 7, key figures from both networks, alongside the esteemed hosts of ‘It’s Showtime,’ convened to solidify the momentous partnership.
Reflecting on the groundbreaking collaboration, Gilberto Duavit Jr., the President and CEO of GMA Network, expressed profound joy and unity. He emphasized the significance of the venture, acknowledging the program’s capacity to bring happiness and entertainment to a wide audience.
“We are very proud, very happy to have ‘It’s Showtime’ on GMA,” remarked Duavit. “You bring so much joy to so many people. Ipagpatuloy niyo ang magandang programa, pagandahin pa natin, at lalo pa nating palawakin ang madlang Kapuso, madlang people, madlang Kapamilya.”
Atty. Felipe Gozon, Chairman of GMA Network, echoed Duavit’s sentiments, viewing the agreement as a symbolic conclusion to the longstanding competition between ABS-CBN and GMA Network. He emphasized the potential for fruitful collaboration between the two media giants, paving the way for mutually beneficial endeavors.
“I think we can expect more mutually beneficial collaborations that will benefit the viewing public,” stated Gozon. “I think tataas ang rating ng ‘It’s Showtime’ magbuhat ng April 6 dahil dalawa-dalawa na ang malakas na platforms niyo.”
With this historic collaboration, GMA Network and ABS-CBN Corp. are poised to embark on a new chapter of partnership, promising an exciting future for the Philippine television landscape.
