Actress Kiray Celis debunked on March 19 the perception about Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera, revealing that those were “far from the truth.”
During GMA Network’s ‘My Guardian Alien’ press conference at Luxent Hotel in Quezon City, Celis, who will be working for the first time with Rivera, revealed that people have warned her to stay wary of the Kapuso star.
“”It’s my first time to work with Ms. Marian Rivera. Actually, eto ha, ako na mismo magsasabi, siyempre ‘pag sinabing Marian Rivera, ang daming magsasabi sa’yo na, ‘Naku! Makakatrabaho mo si Marian! Goodluck sa’yo!
“Tatakutin ka, aanuhin ka, sasabihin sa iyo ang lahat ng hindi magaganda. Pero sa totoong buhay po, lahat ng mga nagsabi sa akin niyan gusto kong balikan isa-isa. Kasi lahat po iyon, mali. Lahat po iyon, kabaliktaran sa lahat ng mga sinasabi nila,” she narratated.
But after working with Rivera, Celis discovered that the actress was far from intimidating.
“Tatakutin ka, aanuhin ka, sasabihin sa iyo ang lahat ng hindi magaganda. Pero sa totoong buhay po, lahat ng mga nagsabi sa akin niyan gusto kong balikan isa-isa. Kasi lahat po iyon, mali. Lahat po iyon, kabaliktaran sa lahat ng mga sinasabi nila,” Celis stressed.
The comedian-actress refuted the claims of those people, stressing that the ‘My Guardian Alien’ star was the opposite of rude, intimidating, and a diva.
“Kung gaano nila sinasabi na nakakatakot, sobrang nakakatawa; kung gaano nila sinasabi nila na maldita, sobrang kulit! Yayain mo dito sa gilid, hindi maarte. Sasabihin nilang maarte, kabaliktaran po ‘yun sa lahat ng mga makikita mo.”
Celis believed it was because of how the actress projects herself. But there is a saying, “Never a judge a book by its cover.”
After working with Rivera, she was certain that none of those perceptions were true.
“Pero kapag nakatrabaho niyo siya, kabaliktaran po iyan sa lahat. Kaya lahat kami, nararamdaman namin iyon, and very thankful kami na naka-work namin si Ate Yan.”
‘My Guardian Alien’ is a show about an alien (Rivera) meant to protect the earth while being disguised as a housewife. The series is under the direction of Zig Dulay, and will have its premiere on April 1.
