The cast of the upcoming summer flick ‘G! LU’ embraced the film’s “barkada” theme by indulging in some fun antics while filming in La Union.
During an April 17 media conference at KAO Manila in Newport World Resorts, stars David Licauco and Enzo Pineda, along with cast members Derrick Monasterio, Teejay Marquez, and Katarina Rodriguez, reminisced about their on-set adventures.
Licauco recalled a particular incident at Flotsam and Jetsam Hostel, a renowned party spot in the province, where they sneaked out to enjoy some drinks between shoots. He confessed that the weekend shoot coincided with a Saturday night, making it irresistible to resist the allure of Flotsam’s vibrant atmosphere.
“Flotsam kasi, party place talaga siya,” Licauco explained. “So that night, we were shooting, and since it was a weekend, we sneaked out to Flotsam to grab some drinks in between scenes.”
For Licauco, who was about 25 years old at the time of shooting in 2019, it was all about embracing the work-life balance that the film production allowed. He noted that such experiences were rare in the typical shooting schedules of teleseryes or movies, making “G! LU” a unique and enjoyable project.
Pineda, while agreeing with Licauco’s sentiments, revealed that he wasn’t part of the “naughty” group that evening, as he had the day off from shooting. Instead, he was out enjoying the night with friends who weren’t part of the film crew.
When asked about the cast’s appeal to the opposite sex, Pineda playfully suggested that Licauco and Kiko Estrada were the main attractions, to which Licauco humbly insisted that Pineda himself was quite the charmer.
With their youthful energy and good looks, it’s no surprise that the cast of “G! LU” had their fair share of attention, both on and off-screen.
