Kapamilya artist Gigi de Lana’s mother, Imelda de Lana, passed away on Tuesday night, May 14, 2024, at 9:19 PM.
Gigi confirmed the heartbreaking news on Wednesday morning through her social media accounts, expressing her deep love and gratitude for her mother.
“Salamat sa lahat ng dasal niyo kay mama. She passed away at 9:19pm May 14, 2024 Mahal na mahal kita mama. Pahinga ka na,” Gigi wrote on her Facebook page.
On Instagram, Gigi also posted heartfelt photos of her mother, captioning them with, “Mahal na mahal kita. Pahinga ka na mama ko.”
Last week, Gigi had reached out to her fans and followers, asking for prayers for her mother, who was battling cancer. Last year, Gigi shared a touching gesture by cutting her hair short to match her mother’s cropped hairstyle after Imelda was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer.
