Star Magic clarifies Ivana Alawi’s exit from ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’

Star Magic has officially addressed the rumors surrounding actress-vlogger Ivana Alawi’s departure from the popular ABS-CBN series ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,’ denying claims that she was removed due to an “attitude problem.”

The talent agency issued a statement on Instagram on Wednesday, July 17, to clear up the speculation.

“Star Magic would like to inform everyone that there is no truth to the rumors about the reason for Ivana Alawi’s departure from FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo,’” the statement began.

The agency highlighted the positive reception that Alawi received for her role as Bubbles and her on-screen chemistry with lead actor Coco Martin. This positive feedback led to an extension of her stay in the series beyond the initially agreed-upon three months.

“Ever since Ivana joined the series, her character Bubbles and her pairing with Coco Martin were warmly received by the public. This led to her staying in the series for longer than initially planned,” the statement read.

Star Magic also expressed their gratitude for Alawi’s dedication and contributions to the show.

“We are thankful for the dedication, love, and cheerful camaraderie that Ivana showed to her co-workers, and for her commitment to providing quality entertainment to the audience,” the statement continued.

The agency extended its appreciation to Coco Martin and the entire “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” team for the opportunity given to Alawi.

“Thank you for your understanding and support,” the statement concluded.

Last week, Alawi’s talent manager, Perry Lansigan, also addressed the rumors, clarifying that her departure was due to scheduling conflicts rather than any issues with her behavior.

Ivana Alawi’s role in ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ was widely celebrated, and her exit marks the end of a well-received chapter in the series.
