Tony Labrusca is set to make his teleserye debut on GMA Network in the upcoming Afternoon Prime series ‘Binibining Marikit,’ where he will star alongside beauty queen and actress Herlene Budol.
This marks Labrusca’s first major project with the Kapuso network, generating excitement among his fans and GMA Network viewers.
In an interview with GMANetwork.com on October 11, during the series’ story conference, Labrusca expressed his enthusiasm for working with Budol and joining GMA Network.
“I’m super excited. Actually, gusto ko makatrabaho si Herlene Budol, matagal ko na s’ya gusto makatrabaho. Grateful ako kay Lord na binigyan n’ya ako ng chance and dito pa sa GMA which I’m really grateful that they gave me the opportunity to work here. I’m excited because this is my first,” Labrusca said. He also shared his hopes for the show’s reception, saying, “I’m excited to see din kung paano matatanggap ng tao itong first show ko dito, and sana magusthan nila ‘yung project kasi cute s’ya.”
While the details of Labrusca’s role are still under wraps, he mentioned that he is closely collaborating with the show’s director, Jorron Lee Monroy, to bring his character to life. “Heavily dependent ako sa direktor ko pagdating sa preparation. Usually kung ano ‘yung gusto nila, ginagawa ko. Honestly, nag-struggle ako na buhayin ‘yung character ko na mag-isa lang ako so ayon. It’s my first time working with Direk Jorron. I’m really excited to see how my character will be na bubuuin ko with him and with the creatives,” he added.
When asked about other Kapuso projects he would like to be part of, Labrusca emphasized that he believes in letting opportunities unfold naturally. “You never know where life could take you. I just want to believe na whatever’s meant to be yours, will always be yours. So nangyari ito for a reason, I’m very happy and excited, and graceful,” he said.
Joining Labrusca and Budol in the cast of ‘Binibining Marikit’ are well-known actors like Pokwang, Cris Villanueva, Almira Muhlach, Thea Tolentino, and more, adding depth to the series’ ensemble.
