Veteran actor John Estrada broke his silence and dismissed rumors romantically linking him to actress Barbie Imperial.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Estrada clarified that although he is familiar with Imperial as a fellow artist, they have never interacted on a personal level.
“Kilala ko siya bilang isang artista, pero hindi po sa personal na lebel. Sa tanang buhay ko, minsan ko lang siyang nakita sa ABS-CBN Christmas Special noong 2021 or 2022, at iyon na ang huling pagkikita namin,” Estrada explained.
He also pointed out that while they are both part of the primetime series ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’, their paths never crossed during production due to working with different teams and directors.
“Dahil po iba ang grupo niya, unit, at direktor niya. Kung sino man ang nagsimula nito, e puede ka maging komedyante,” he added, addressing the origin of the false narrative.
Estrada further urged media outlets and gossip sites to verify their information before releasing reports to the public.
“Hindi ko alam kung sino o saan nagsimula ang kalokohan na ito na nagli-link sa amin ni Barbie Imperial,” Estrada said.

Barbie Imperial, who has also been targeted by the same rumor, previously labeled the speculation as “fake news.” She supported Estrada’s statement by liking his Instagram post, showing her agreement with his clarification.
