Comedy Queen Aiai delas Alas has officially withdrawn her petition for her estranged husband Gerald Sibayan to become a U.S. permanent resident, following their separation and revelations of a third party in their relationship.

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) approved Aiai’s request to revoke the Petition for Alien Relative she had filed on July 15, 2021. The petition was automatically canceled on January 8, 2025, and officially confirmed as revoked on March 17. The decision is final and non-appealable, according to the USCIS.
In addition to the revocation, Aiai also requested the cancellation of Gerald’s travel and work permits in the U.S.
This development comes months after Aiai confirmed in November 2024 that she and Gerald had separated. In a recent interview with BB Gandanghari posted on YouTube on March 27, Aiai shared that Gerald ended their marriage via Viber on October 14, citing his desire to have children and admitting that he was no longer happy in the relationship.
Initially, Aiai had stated she would not revoke Gerald’s green card petition despite their split. However, her stance changed upon learning about the alleged involvement of a third party.
During the same interview, Aiai, 60, candidly described her marriage to Gerald—30 years her junior—as a “wrong decision” from the very beginning.
“Pinanindigan ko na lang, and gusto kong ipakita sa buong mundo na age doesn’t matter. But it matters,” she admitted. Going forward, she said she would prefer a partner closer to her age, saying a ten-year age gap might be more manageable.
Five months after their separation, Aiai said she is still in the recovery phase. “Tapos na ako sa grieving. I think acceptance na lang,” she shared. She acknowledged BB Gandanghari’s observation that she may still be going through the anger stage of healing.
In the same conversation, Aiai clarified that although she has had three weddings, only her marriage to Gerald is legally valid.
Her first marriage, to singer Miguel Vera, was bigamous and not recognized under the law, as Vera was already married at the time. The union was done to appease Ai-Ai’s mother, who was against live-in relationships.
Aiai also briefly married businessman Jed Salang in 2013 in Las Vegas. That marriage ended after just 29 days, with Aiai previously revealing that abuse and infidelity were involved.
She married Gerald in 2017 after three years of dating, describing it as her only “true” and legal marriage.
According to Aiai’s legal counsel, Atty. Pia Dyquiangco, it is now entirely up to Gerald to determine his next steps regarding his immigration status.
“He will not be benefitting from Aiai’s petition. It is her prerogative as the petitioner whether to push through with it or not. Because of the pending divorce, she is being truthful to USCIS about the state of their marriage,” Dyquiangco said. “What he does after this is up to him. He is on his own.”
As of this writing, Gerald Sibayan has not issued a public statement regarding the petition’s withdrawal or the status of their marriage.
