GMA Network’s flagship FM radio station Barangay LS 97.1 Forever! and its highly popular podcast, “Barangay Love Stories,” received the first-ever Spotify Creator Milestone Award after recording an impressive 50+ million streams. The awarding ceremony was held on Wednesday, February 26, at the GMA Network Center in Quezon City.
Accepting the award were GMA’s First Vice President for Radio Operations Glenn F. Allona, Manager for FM Radio Operations TJ Herrera, Drama Director Eduardo “Papa JT” Lubrin and Mr. Barangay Love Stories himself, Papa Dudut.
Also in attendance were GMA New Media Inc. (NMI) President and COO Dennis Augusto L. Caharian, GMA Entertainment Group’s Vice President for Comedy, Infotainment, Game, and Reality Productions Janine Piad-Nacar and Assistant Vice President Enri T. Calaycay, and GMA Corporate Communications Assistant Vice President Jojo Aquio.
Representing Spotify were Head of Podcasts Carl Zuzarte, Podcast Partner Manager Philippe Disini, and Partnerships Lead Zafira King.
The top podcast on Spotify Philippines, “Barangay Love Stories” treats listeners weekly to stories of love, life, and hope, through letters sent to host Papa Dudut. Heartfelt dramatizations take audiences on an emotional journey, making the podcast a consistent chart-topper on the platform.
