SHINee’s Choi Minho wrapped up his first-ever solo concert tour, ‘MEAN: Of My First’, with an electrifying finale in Manila on March 16 at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.
The K-pop idol, actor, and performer gave Filipino fans a memorable night, delivering powerful performances from his solo albums, expressing his heartfelt gratitude, and even making a promise to return soon.
Minho set the stage ablaze with high-energy performances, singing hits such as ‘Would You Mind,’ ‘Affection,’ ‘Came and Left Me,’ and ‘Fireworks.’ His ‘Flaming Charisma’ was on full display as he engaged with the crowd, greeting them in Filipino:
“Philippine SHINee World! Did you guys miss me? Miss you too! Kamusta? Ako si Minho!”
He also highlighted the special place Filipino fans hold in his heart, acknowledging their unwavering support throughout his career.
“Since I left you guys, this is my first solo concert, MEAN: Of My First. Welcome to my show!”
Filipino Shawols went all out in preparing fan events, moving Minho to the point of distraction during a performance.
“Nawala talaga ‘yung concentration ko kasi may mga fan events! Maraming, maraming salamat po,” he admitted.
He also praised the enthusiasm of his Filipino fans, stating: “Gustong-gusto ko talaga ‘yung mainit na energy at pati ‘yung weather dito sa Pilipinas! Pero ‘yung energy ninyo—ibang klase! It makes me fly high more para sa concert tonight.”
Minho also paid tribute to his journey as a SHINee member, performing fan-favorite tracks like “View” and “Body Rhythm.”
As the night neared its end, Minho reflected on how much the tour meant to him.
“Baka dahil last stop na ito ng aking concert, medyo malungkot ako. Pero grabe, ang saya-saya ko sa inyong lahat!”
Filipino fans, in turn, refused to let him go easily, chanting “Walang uuwi!”. Minho playfully lay down on stage and responded, “Stay here? Okay. Stay here!”
Before wrapping up the show, he made a heartfelt promise: “I will come back to the Philippines very soon. I’m very, very, very happy tonight. Thank you! I love you!”
For his encore, Minho performed an unreleased song, ‘You’re Right,’ and ‘Choice’ from his mini-album ‘Chase.’
After the concert, Minho took to social media, posting in Filipino: “Salamat sa pagsasaya kasama ko . Magkita tayo sa susunod. Mahal kita .”
