Actor-comedian and social media influencer Chad Kinis recently took to Facebook to clap back at a netizen who criticized his fellow Beks Battalion member, MC Calaquian, sparking a heated online exchange.
The controversy began when a netizen commented on a post, accusing Calaquian of being “lazy” and lacking ambition compared to their groupmate, Lassy Marquez.
The netizen wrote, “Mas bet ko si Lassy, very simple kahit sinasabihan na chaka, wag ka dami naipundar kesa kay MC na tamad at walang pangarap,” implying that Marquez had achieved more through vlogging while belittling Calaquan’s efforts. The comment, which tagged Kinis, quickly caught his attention, prompting a sharp and thoughtful response.
Kinis, known for his wit and loyalty to his friends, didn’t hesitate to set the record straight.
“Di porke’t walang pinapakita sa vlog, eh wala nang naipundar. Baka magulat ka, kung sino ang pinakamayaman sa aming tatlo,” he posted, debunking the assumption that Calaquan hadn’t built anything substantial from their vlogging career. His teasing remark about who might be the wealthiest among the trio left fans speculating and the basher silenced.
In a follow-up post, Kinis shared a screenshot of the netizen’s comment and took aim at those quick to judge without knowing the full story.
“Yung mga ganitong klaseng basher na akala mo alam na alam ang personal na buhay ng ibang tao. Kung wala kang alam try mo magresearch,” he wrote, urging the critic to do some digging before making baseless claims.
He continued, “Ayos lang naman na ayaw mo sa isa samin or isa lang ang gusto mo sa amin pero hindi ibig sabihin niyan may karapatan ka na sabihan ang iba na walang pangarap at tamad.” Kinis emphasized that while preferences are fine, it doesn’t justify tearing others down with unfair labels.
Kinis didn’t stop there. He dropped a bombshell for the self-proclaimed Lassy fan: “Anong alam mo? Kung nagresearch ka at talagang ‘FAN’ ka ni Lassy alam mo kung paano siya sinuportahan at tinulungan ni MC para maiayos din ang lahat sa buhay niya mula noon hanggang ngayon!” He revealed that Calaquan played a key role in supporting Marquez throughout his journey, a fact the netizen seemed oblivious to despite claiming fandom.
