Kapamilya superstar Kathryn Bernardo has finally spoken up about the status of her love life, putting to rest the rumors linking her to Lucena City Mayor Mark Alcala and other personalities.
During her red carpet interview at the ABS-CBN Ball 2025 held at Solaire Resort North, Kathryn was asked by reporter Gretchen Fullido if she’s currently taken or still enjoying single life. The ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ judge confidently responded, “I’m very happy. And yes, still single.”
Kathryn’s statement comes after weeks of speculation that she’s dating Mayor Alcala. The buzz started when showbiz insider Ogie Diaz claimed he had a source saying the two were going out. Fueling the intrigue, netizens pointed out that Kathryn’s mom, Min Bernardo, briefly followed Mayor Alcala on Instagram—only to reportedly unfollow him soon after the rumors surfaced.
Despite the noise, both parties have remained mum. As of writing, Mayor Mark still follows Kathryn on Instagram, but she doesn’t follow him back.
In a separate interview with MJ Felipe, Mommy Min confirmed that while someone is courting Kathryn, she’s very much “single for now.”
Kathryn walked the red carpet solo in a neutral-colored, custom Anthony Ramirez gown that she described as “dainty, delicate, and dreamy,” matching the spring-themed motif of this year’s Ball. Her flowing, wavy hair perfectly complemented the look.
Also spotted at the event was Kathryn’s ex-boyfriend Daniel Padilla, who arrived solo but walked just behind his Incognito co-stars Ian Veneracion and Richard Gutierrez. Fans couldn’t help but wonder whether the former couple crossed paths during the star-studded affair.
Meanwhile, Kathryn continues to thrive in her career, currently serving as one of the judges on the new season of ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’, alongside Eugene Domingo, Donny Pangilinan, and FMG. The show is hosted by Robi Domingo and Melai Cantiveros.
To her fans, Kathryn had a heartfelt message: “Thank you so much sa lahat ng sumusuporta and sa lahat ng nage-enjoy manood ng ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ every weekend… it’s been fun.”
