Epson’s Printing Solutions Help Reduce Carbon Footprint

Epson is transforming the way businesses approach office printing with its innovative Heat-Free Technology, offering organizations in the Philippines a smarter, more energy-efficient alternative to traditional laser printers.

For decades, office printing has relied on outdated technology that consumes high amounts of electricity. Epson’s Heat-Free Technology eliminates the need for heat in the printing process, significantly reducing energy use and environmental impact—without compromising speed or quality.

“At Epson, we believe innovation should bring real value to businesses,” said Noelle Gonzalez, Marketing Division Head at Epson Philippines. “That’s why we’ve designed our business printers to help companies lower their operating costs, improve productivity, and reduce their carbon footprint—all while maintaining professional print quality.”

A Smarter, Energy-Efficient Alternative

Unlike conventional laser printers that use heat to fuse toner onto paper, Epson’s business inkjet printers utilize a Piezo element to release ink mechanically—removing the need for heat entirely.
This difference is particularly relevant in the Philippines, where electricity rates are among the highest in Southeast Asia. According to internal assessments, Epson printers can consume up to 85% less energy and emit up to 85% less CO₂ compared to laser printers. They also require up to 59% fewer replacement parts, which helps minimize downtime and maintenance.

Business Gains Beyond Savings

With no warm-up time required, Epson printers start printing instantly and can reach speeds of up to 100 pages per minute. They use DURABrite pigment inks that are water-resistant—ideal for the country’s humid climate—ensuring printed documents remain durable and smudge-free.

“We’ve redefined the printing cost equation for Philippine businesses,” Gonzalez added. “Our customers don’t just notice the change in their carbon footprint—they see it in their monthly bills and day-to-day operations.”

Consultations Now Available

Philippine business leaders interested in improving efficiency while reducing environmental impact can schedule a consultation with Epson’s specialists. These sessions include a customized assessment to help determine potential electricity savings based on current printing volumes.
