Hit Kapamilya action-drama teleserye ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo (FPJBQ)’ experienced a dip in viewership during election day as Filipino audiences turned their attention to news and special coverage programs.
According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People ratings report, FPJBQ posted lower numbers during the midterm electionson Monday, May 12, as competing news programs dominated viewership.
FPJBQ registered an 8.6 percent rating, 4.3 percentage points behind ’24 Oras,’ which scored 12.9 percent. GMA Network’s pre-primetime election special Eleksyon 2025 also performed strongly, landing just slightly behind FPJBQ at 8.2 percent.
However, the following day, Tuesday, May 13, saw a swift rebound for FPJBQ, which surged by 4.7 percentage points to 13.3 percent. Despite the increase, it still trailed ’24 Oras,’ which recorded a 14.4 percent rating.
By Wednesday, May 14, the Coco Martin-led series reclaimed its primetime leadership, rising to 13.6 percent and surpassing ’24 Oras,’ which slid to 12.2 percent.
The winning streak continued on Thursday, May 15, as FPJBQ posted a solid 13.0 percent, outpacing ’24 Oras’ by 0.8 points, which again registered 12.2 percent.
Capping off the week on Friday, May 16, FPJBQ maintained its momentum, ending on top with a 12.4 percent rating, 1.4 points ahead of ’24 Oras,’ which closed the week at 11.0 percent.
These results highlight that while Filipino viewers remain highly engaged with important news coverage during critical events like elections, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo continues to be their preferred primetime entertainment choice.
