Fans were left thrilled and nostalgic on Wednesday, June 12, as Dingdong Dantes and Karylle appeared on the same stage for the first time in years during an episode of the noontime show ‘It’s Showtime’.

The Kapuso Primetime King was a guest on the show alongside veteran actress Charo Santos to promote their upcoming film. Both took part in the popular ‘KidSONA (Song of the Nation Address)’ segment, going up against a team led by Vice Ganda and Karylle.
The much-anticipated encounter between the former couple quickly became a trending topic online, with viewers expressing excitement and admiration for what appeared to be a calm and civil reunion. Although there was no on-camera interaction between Dingdong and Karylle, fans were quick to comment that the two seemed to be on good terms.
“The world is healing,” one netizen wrote, while another said, “After all these years, finally, Karylle and Dingdong are seen on the same screen again. Sorry, but I’m still getting butterflies!”

The moment marked a significant shift from the 2023 episode of ‘It’s Showtime’ when Karylle was absent during Dingdong and wife Marian Rivera’s guest appearance to promote their film ‘Rewind’. At the time, Karylle said she was ill, but fans speculated that it was linked to lingering tension from her past relationship with Dingdong.
The two dated for three years before their high-profile breakup in 2008. Rumors then swirled that Marian was the third party involved, though all parties have since moved on and are now happily married—Dingdong to Marian, and Karylle to Sponge Cola frontman Yael Yuzon.
Adding to the day’s buzz was the choice of background music during the segment. Viewers pointed out that the show played ‘Multo’ by Cup of Joe, a song about ghosting and unfinished relationships, while Dingdong and Karylle were on screen—a detail some found both amusing and symbolic.
Literal na multo talaga kasi after how many years, nagkita ulit sila #itsshowtime #dingdong #karylle

Meanwhile, Charo Santos also joined in on the show’s lighthearted energy. When Vice Ganda jokingly complained that Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, and Jhong Hilario were absent during her guesting, Charo quipped on-air: “Hindi naman tama yon, member sila ng cast ng ‘It’s Showtime’ tapos palagi silang absent, kaya Vhong, Anne, Jhong, ano ba talaga? Mahal ninyo ba ang ‘Showtime?’ Bakit wala kayo rito?”
Vice quickly added that even Ogie Alcasid and Darren Espanto were missing due to shows in the U.S., where, he joked, “the talent fees are higher.”
Charo gamely played along, saying, “Bakit ganon minemenos nila ang ‘Showtime?’ Kailangan na nating i-meeting si Cory Vidanes!”
The segment had the audience in stitches, with viewers praising the spontaneous humor and the “unkabogable” wit of Vice Ganda.
While it may have started as a simple guesting for a film promo, the unexpected reunion of Dingdong and Karylle stole the spotlight and proved to fans that time does heal all wounds. As one fan put it: “Seeing them share the screen again is a moment I never thought I’d witness—peace has been restored.”
