Luis Manzano is among those calling for justice in the heinous murder of goat dealers Ronald Alumno, Jhon Luis Olarte and Gerry Ortega of Calatagan, Batangas.
The three left Batangas on May 6, 2025 to deliver ten hybrid goats worth one million pesos to Maguindanao del Sur.Olarte last contacted his brother on May 11 to say that he and his companions were at the checkpoint and would meet with those who would buy the goats they were carrying.
Since then, the three of their relatives have lost contact and on May 30, their bodies were found buried in a shallow grave in a rubber plantation in Barangay Nabundas, Shariff Saydona Mustapha, Maguindanao del Sur.
Hands tied and blindfolded,the bodies of Alumno, Ortega and Olarte were stabbed to death.
Luis personally expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.
He also reached out to Calatagan Mayor Peter Oliver Palacio and the Calatagan Police for assistance and support that he can provide to his slain fellow Batanguenos.Luis joins the call for justice for the innocent victims mourned by the people of Calatagan through Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No.91, declaring June 5 as A Day of Mourning in honor and remembrance of Olarte, Ortega, and Alumno.
All flags of the Philippines in Calatagan were flown at half-mast on June 5 as a sign of mourning and respect for the murdered goat dealers.
