Promising singer-rapper MAVEN, the first hip-hop artist to debut under ABS-CBN’s Star Music label, has released his self-penned double music offerings, “Gustong Gusto (I like to so much)” and “Papunta Na Ako (I’m on the way).”
Named Dustin Gipala in real life, MAVEN was one of the contenders in “Tawag ng Tanghalan Kids” season 1. He also joined the blind auditions of “The Voice Kids” in 2015. He has been active as a cover artist on YouTube since 2019.
As an artist, MAVEN looks forward to releasing relatable and genuine music through his hip-hop compositions. He said, “real shit, real-life, and authentic lahat ng ilalabas nating music, abangan niyo.”
The R&B track “Gustong Gusto (I like it so much),” produced by Cursebox, describes a steamy night with a special someone.
“Yow! Nabuo yung song na ‘yan dahil sa passion and love, ‘di dahil trip kong maging bastos o maangas. Gusto ko lang ilabas yung side ko bilang artist sa ganyang paraan,” he said in an Instagram story.
“Papunta Na Ako (I’m on the way),” meanwhile, is a pop-R&B track reassuring one’s significant other that they’re on the way to them, no matter how far and no matter what. It was produced by Young JV.
It was just last month when MAVEN debuted with the song “Dito Ka Muna,” a hip-hop and R&B song encouraging a person to stay longer.
