Cignal Play has officially redefined Filipino entertainment with the launch of Cignal Play Microdrama — a new slate of emotionally charged, under-five-minute vertical series made for the fast-scrolling, mobile-first generation.

The launch was unveiled in a visually immersive media conference held last July 16, where guests were transported into the vivid world of microdramas through LED installations, interactive touchscreens, and life-sized vignettes.
“We believe that storytelling has the power to connect, inspire, and transform. With Cignal Play Microdrama, we’re bringing a new dimension to Filipino content — short, impactful, relatable,” said MediaQuest and Cignal President and CEO Jane Basas.
Designed for Filipinos always on the move, each microdrama episode runs under five minutes and is filmed vertically for optimal mobile viewing. These bite-sized stories deliver big emotions — whether drama, romance, comedy, or suspense — all accessible via the Cignal Play app.
Cignal’s newest offering showcases five original titles, with a sixth on the way, and each reflecting authentic Filipino experiences told with heart, humor, and intensity:
‘I See You’ – A psychological thriller starring Dimples Romana as a powerful woman who goes blind — yet begins to see her inner circle’s betrayals. Also starring Joem Bascon, Cedrick Juan, Pearl Gonzales, Glenda Garcia, and Zion Cruz.
‘My Father’s Last Wish’ – A poignant family drama about forgiveness and second chances, featuring Dylan Menor, Johnny Revilla, Gerald Madrid, Alex Medina, and Dawn Chang.
‘3 Queens and a Baby’ – A drag comedy starring Christian Bables, TJ Valderrama, Iyah Mina, Daniela Stranner, Donna Cariaga, Christian Vasquez, and Iven Lim — centered on a fabulous trio whose lives are turned upside down by an unexpected baby.
‘Baker’s Heart’ – A sweet, romantic story set in a local panaderia, exploring love and second chances.
‘A Cure Called Love’ (Coming soon) – A feel-good romance that asks: Can love heal all wounds? Stars Dylan Menor, Micah Santos, Gelli De Belen, Pinky Amador, and Jeff Tam.
Cignal Play also features microdramas from its partner Dashflix, a mobile-first content producer focused on high-quality, short-form storytelling.
Cignal Play’s innovative pricing model follows a “tingi” or sachet-style approach. Users can watch the first five episodes of each series for free, then unlock the rest of the content for just:
- ₱20 for one day
- ₱50 for three days
- ₱80 for seven days
“You don’t need the standard Cignal Play subscription to enjoy the microdramas,” Basas explained. “You can just watch for free, and if you want more, it’s affordable and flexible.”
With over 1.4 million users across its platforms, Cignal Play aims to double its registrations within 12 months through Microdrama and future offerings. According to Cignal Chief Revenue Officer Gerard Milan, scaling content and user reach is now the platform’s top priority.
“We want to drive to market. Scaling is the most important at this point — more shows, more registrations, more people,” said Milan.
Each microdrama series is shot within three to six days and may run up to 80 episodes, proving that short-form doesn’t mean short on story or impact.
Cignal Play Microdrama offers a new storytelling frontier — one that fits in the palm of your hand. Whether on a commute, a lunch break, or during a midnight scroll, there’s always time for a quick hit of compelling Filipino drama.
